"Google accidentally mapped much more than addresses, says privacy boss"

Apparently Google's street view caused some privacy concerns and even broke Canadian privacy laws by collecting personal information from wireless networks. They collected info like emails, usernames, and passwords.....awkward

  1. Good find. This is very timely for our privacy coverage coming up.

Here's a link to the privacy commissioner's report:

  2. This article isn't really related, but it's got to do with Google and privacy issues as well. Google has been preparing to launch their Street View Service in 20 cities in Germany, but apparently many Germans (about a quarter of a million) have asked Google to pixel out their homes or buildings.

I suppose Street View causes more of a stir in Germany because the article mentioned issues with Nazi and communist regimes. However, I'm surprised to think about how accepting we have been of Google's street view option. The more I think about it, the creepier it seems that anybody is able to see my home from anywhere in the world!
